Rhyolite, Nevada, USA

Look past the steel carcass and you'll see the shell of a building or two. That was Rhyolite, the boomtown. What you see now is Rhyolite, the ghost town. In 1907, it was the third largest community in Nevada, with perhaps 8,000 residents. What made it boom? Gold, but only one mine was ever really productive. [2016]
