Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA

Spanish Town (emphatically not French and not English) is the oldest neighborhood in Baton Rouge. How does it establish an identity for itself today? With flamingos. They're everywhere. According to the slogan used for one year's Mardi Gras parade: "Bad taste is better than no taste at all." [2011]
