Zanesville, Ohio, USA

Zanesville styles itself as the pottery capital of the world. Today, the artsy side of molded clay may have taken over, but historically it was the utilitarian side of the industry that formed the economic base of the town. While lots of places have clay deposits, Zanesville was on the main road west in an era before plastics were invented. [1987]
