Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico

Bells in belfries preceded buzzers on bed stands. The purpose was the same, however: to synchronize the rituals of life. Churches built towers in which to hang their bells, then learned to use the exterior space for clocks that all could see. Doesn't the clock here look like an afterthought? [2007]
