Cape Charles, Virginia, USA

Trompe-l'oeil means "fool the eye." It is a concept often applied to murals and ceilings. Cape Charles is proof that the same technique can be applied to water towers. Here's one that fools the eye into believing it's a light tower. In fact, the Cape Charles lighthouse, located on a nearby island, is vaguely similar in appearance. [2013]
