He may be in Istanbul (really, Üsküdar on the Asian side), but the face and build betray his Black Sea origins. I wonder if he is a construction worker; I wonder if he is given to song; I wonder if he speaks his native tongue. All but the last would be typical of the Laz, a people with roots in the Caucasus.
