Abu Dhabi, UAE

If you can change oil into water, turning the desert green is no problem. But, first you must have oil, and Abu Dhabi does. Drip irrigation makes it possible to deliver precise amounts of water (and nutrients) to the root zone of each plant. We should be using it everywhere, not just in deserts. [1992]

  1. I find the idea of being able to grow such lush, green plants in the desert fascinating. I agree that this should be used everywhere, not just in a desert setting. Think of the possibilities for areas plagued by constant drought and malnurished soil. Our world food supply would be in much better shape!
